Is it necessary to buy aa pair of sensors for the rear? Looking at under car launch videos makes me think the housing moves as one unit. Ladder bar with track locator bar from left front right rear.

Can I get away with generic sensors adapted to work with Racepak Sportsman? I want problem free data.

First installation of rear DA's led me to mount a GoPro and it helped a ton. I'd like to be able to see graphs after a pass but trying not to spend thousands if it's not necessary. Thanks for any advice.

I have run them both ways because one broke. That being said I think one is fine . I know some guys use Lowdollar sensors with good luck. Hope this helps.

I purchased a less expensive sensor from Low Dollar and able to mount on either side. Don’t see the need for two sensors. Does everything right. I did place a small cable tie on the sensor rod to indicate total compression travel.

Thanks for the advice. These prices are scary cheap. Quality/accuracy is good with these?

Basically, it’s a rheostat. That one in the pic has been in 1.5 years and has over 15k towing miles on it. Works perfect and set up to read 0.00 travel. I used to wear out rear shocks in the trailer towing, and that’s fixed this year. Now rear is limited to less than 3/4” while towing.

So I'd just need a Racepak module to make it work with my Sportsman?

How did you limit rear end travel when towing? I've thought about tying to the frame rail.

I’ve used this for several months now to limit the compression, was inexpensive and works excellent for me. I use straps that go from the axle to the rail above to limit the rebound. Takes a few minutes longer to strap the car but saves the shocks.

You can make the sensors yourself with any potentiometer. I used throttle position sensors from 1987 TPI 350. They cost about $30 at RA.
It requires the RacePak USM which is expensive, unfortunately.

My belief on DA devices hasn’t changed. Consider purchasing an ECU that can record it all and offer much more at a very competitive price.
