Holley/Hooker has brought out some new ones in chrome and stainless with or without merge collectors. These are very nice for the money.

Yes I have seen the ads for those also but forgot about them....

It's November and months and months before we get back to racing around here.....Lots of time to decide on what to buy....

10 lbs is 10 lbs however you look at it. 10 lbs lost in 2-3 or more items and you CAN gain ET and MPH, that is FACTS. As far as chroming stainless, they will eventually turn gold still regardless and you will still have to deal with the chrome chipping away at some point, again FACTS.

Nick, FACTS...10 to 20 lb. reduction in our dragsters equals NOTHING on the time slip. Been there, done that.

Facts...a 30lb. reduction in our small tire and back halved doors cars equals NOTHING on the time slip. Been there done that.

That said, I agree that chrome headers regardless whether mild steel or stainless will blue if lean and gold if air/fuel is right to slightly rich.

If you're looking for the absolute best quality in materials and welds, I would highly recommend Pro-Fab in Mooresville, NC. Second to none when it comes to material and fabrication quality. Granted they are NOT cheap, but good parts and quality never is.

20-30 lbs on my dragster slowed it up about .02, as I was able to back to back it by adding and subtracting the weight itself..

Yep I'm with NC3X58, i see 30 lbs in both the dragsters i'm dealing with. When my son drives mine he goes 4.70 when i drive i'm 4.72 to 4.73 he's 170-175 lbs and i'm 200-205. My car is 2000lbs on starting line with him and 2030 with me, his 2000 with me and 1970 with him. When double entering 1 car on the same day i'm always dialing up 0.02 to 0.03. Not sure what's up with the other combos, but 30 lbs is 30 lbs and usually shows up in my combinations as around 0.020 to 0.030 sec.

Now 1320 is baiting people. Lol You Da Man
I disagree strongly about the door car comment. I did ok using weight to hit an index.
With a dragster I could see less of an improvement but an improvement none the less.

PS. I'm a washed up nobody that hasn't raced in years.
PS 2. Why are the cut upshyt boxes faster? Confused
All in fun!

Cool

FACT:

20 pounds on my car equals .021 back to back on my car. When my son and I race the same car there is exactly 20 pounds different.

FACT, it is not with my car. Back to back passes have proved this to be true numerous times! FYI, my son weighs exactly 20 pounds more than me. We have also added and removed equipment that weighed between 10 and 20 lbs. FACT2, numerous friends have added or removed up to 20 lbs. in their dragster and they too have come to the conclusion that 10-20lbs is worth NOTHING on the time slip.

If you can find a clean and maintained set of the polished SS Performance Welding dragster headers you’ll be happy you bought them. I tried many down swept headers and these just made more power.

He's comin! I know he's also one who has seen .02 on the time slip with 20-30 lbs and a bunch of our friends we race with weekly have also seen the same on their time slips.

Performance welding is Mark Lelchook I believe his name is and yes he builds some real nice headers. Stock/SS and Comp guys use his stuff

His website is not working presently

Calvin Elston is another real good header builder for door cars in those same classes. Stockers/ Super Stockers.....His headers are works of art !

Going 8.90 at 174 or 176 makes little to no difference.....

Todays big speed cars are upper 180's and lower 190's.....

Takes a lot of motor to go that fast and this old geezer ain't spending that kind dough to win peanuts and a bowling trophy....

Wally's I got... They look nice but collect dust.....LOL

I'm leaning toward Dynatechs.....I like the tube sleeves they use and my set lasted a long time.....

Like I said it's Novemeber, ELECTION DAY and months before racing next year.....and who knows where or how next year is going to go !!!

Ed

Is this in SC trim or? In my deal when I bolt in my NOS bottle (26 lbs) it will slow the car a solid .02+. Since I run with it and without it a bunch I always see that difference in the ET and about .7 MPH.
