I was just thinking after what Goob was saying in my other topic regarding the lines. Does anyone have experience with the heat sink style transmission coolers like this Obviously they say it is good, but are they any better or worse, or no different, than a good stacked plate cooler?

IMO, they are a fine way to add capacity and buffering, but a poor way to cool fluid. Foxtrot Juliet Bravo

I may still have one. I went to a BM super cooler. If I have the heat sink still you can have it. Eric Macchiaroli S/R1355 80 Arrow

Thanks, I already have one . I was thinking if I put an accumulator in, I could put that where the transmission cooler is, then get a stacked plate cooler for the transmission.

I had one. All was fine until round Robin time. Can't tell ya how many times it led to me backing out of the beams because of high trans temps.

If you are having trans temp issues, you need to cool the fluid down between rounds and nothing works better than the Jones Trans Pump... http://jonestransmissionpumps.com/ but before spending the coin, try Castrol's Transynd synthetic trans fluid first.

You mean me Ed? I don't think I had any cooling troubles. I just am thinking of putting an oil accumulator in and could put it where that log transmission cooler is.
