DRR Trophy

| Check with TRZ Motorsports or maybe Racecraft inc and inquire about the lengths of some of their racks for various applications.
The rack I had in my 79 Malibu (TRZ) was a good bit more narrow than a stock rack as is the one I have for my current fox Mustang (Racecraft inc). |

| Are you actually talking about shortening the RACK or the tie rod ends? I would say measure it lock to lock each direction and see what you have. Shorter tie rod ends would increase bump steer issue. So I do not think that would be a good option and as for the rack itself I would think it has to have some sort of positive stop to keep it from going over and getting stuck full lock? Never had one apart to see. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/"Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. Shortening the rack. The pivot points of the tie rods have to be the same as the lower control arm pivot points or you will have toe movement. The housing has to change length also. |

Thanks. I was hoping you would see this because I expected you had dealt with it before. I will see what I can come up with. I need it to be 19.625" point to point. |

| If you have access to a lathe and welder.. How to shorten a rack and pinion. I have done a couple this way. Dave

Thanks David, it looks like I can shorten it as much as I want. I am a 40 year machinist and welder running a machine shop so the tools and skill are present. I wasn't sure if there was a limit or not. That will save me money |

| Good to go. I use the hacksaw and hammer weld practice myself...lol Kidding. It's fairly easy and you will have no issues. Dave
