I am having a bit of an issue...at the $100K footbrake event last weekend I lost in round 3 because my car pushed deep after being staged shallow...I had this problem before and I had my converter loosened so I could stage up to 3200 without pushing... I run a 79 Monte with factory discs up front and an aeromotive engineering deal out back...the entire brake system has been checked, lines cleared and new fluid put in...I run a glide with 5:13 gears and a 496 pump gas motor... My question is if there are any better brake pads that will grab harder when cold?...the ones currently on the car came with so I am not sure what brand they are...I know I can have the converter loosened up some more but figured maybe this might be a simpler answer... Thanks in advance...

No pad will fix your issue. A foot brake car either needs dual calipers or 11” drum brakes.

I'm not sure without knowing what you have anyone could recommend something better. Have you ever checked how much pressure you have? You said checked but you might not have as much pressure as is needed. Drums do hold better in a case such as this, although I know people going to 3500 with 4 wheel discs and no dual calipers in back. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

I’ve gone to 4500 with 4 wheel discs and no dual calipers in back with far better brakes...MW, than aerospace but it isn’t the best set up for a footbrake car.

No argument there. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

Hawk "Black" pads work very well when cold on Disc Brake applications, however you need to check line pressure to see what you have..

Used the Hawk black pads on my former Chevelle's front disc brakes back in the day and they held nor stopped any better than Raybestos organic pads, What they did do is produce copious amounts of brake dust and killed the rotors.
