LoneWolfReplacing Tires?
Dragster slip joint sitting up for a long time. Getting back into the local track. Rear and front tires are showing some fine dry rot on the sidewalls, for safety reason replacing them. Going to be expensive but anyway. Rear tires Hoosier 33.5 x 17-16 CO6 compound. Several dragster guys at the track have smaller tires, so I am wondering if I should go with small tires? Motor 555 4:10 gear was running 4.78-4.80. Looking for some feedback. Thanks

AlaskaracerI'm not a fan of small tires on a dragster. Big tires, loose converter, appropriate rear gear....I'd stick with the same stuff you ran before if you were happy with it. Changing brands, different story. Some swear by Hoosier, some by Mickeys, and tons of success with both. I run Mickeys, have ran Hoosier and Goodyear in the past but didn't care for the tire shake and inability to get down all but the best prepped tracks, so I stick with the Mickeys.
