3/8" -16 1 1/4 or 1 3/8 long. 1 1/2 if you run a 1/4" midplate

Meziere Tech.
Make sure your water pump is on whenever you check your coolant level.

After a trip out to the shop to measure, I concur.

You didn't specify the length. Confused

So 1,1/2 by 3/8 , course thread all the way around ? This would be a Reid cased tranny on a dragster.

Since its an aftermarket case you need to check what length is needed yourself.....Silly to add that piece of information at the end..

Actually, yes, if it’s an Sfi case or bellhousing. The Sfi rating and the ability to withstand an explosion are affected by bolt type. As far as I know, they are only valid if you use socket head cap screws with no washers.

Except when I posted that, we didn't know it was an aftermarket/SFI piece. So although you may, or may not, be correct, it didnt apply at the time...

I use the stainless Allen head bolts with washer. As for length I measure to get what fits that motor. I also try to get as much thread depth as I can on them. I will clean out the threads on the block so I can use all that is available there. Especially on my aluminum blocks because I do not want it to pull out threads.

I also like to use really long dowels on the motor to keep it lined up good and solid.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I just pulled the Reid case glide out of my Nova last night. This car has NO MIDPLATE. I use black flange-head bolts and also use a flat washer beneath the head.

The top 4 bolts are 1.5", the bottom 2 bolts are 2".

In my little hardware box, I did find 2 top trans bolts from my dragster that I removed when I switched to the Danny Nelson 'over the trans' coil mount. Those bolts were 1.75" which would effectively be the same as what I use in the Nova, but accounts for the extra 1/4" midplate.

TLDR - for a Reid case with 1/4" midplate I would use (4) 1.75" bolts and (2) 2.25" bolts.
