All this fast dragster talk has me wondering how fast have you been in a dragster WITHOUT any power adders? What was the weight sitting on starting line? What cylinder head got you there with how many CIs? | ||

Geeeze,....18 years ago went 6.89 @ 197 with 632-18 degree Big Chiefs. And that was with a nitrous cam in the motor because I was getting ready to spray it. I know there is better stuff out there today.....right! I also went 6.89, only 196 though I think. Just a couple years ago. Sub 500” 4.9 bs motor. It had plenty more in it but is now banished to some storage shed somewhere | |||

4.35 @ 157. .98 60 ft. It's the "better" stuff that's out there. It doesn't eat parts and I can put 400 runs on it between freshen ups. You already knew that though lol........ | |||

Not mine but I guy I race with this past weekend went 4.26 @162 with a single 4, 648 9° @ 1824 with driver. They thought there might have been a .23 in it but it tried to turn over backward. Yea that was crazy see a fast bracket dragster almost go over backwards. Sometimes they make that track too sticky IMO, fast cars need some wheel speed | |||

Great point on getting the wheel speed early then controlling it. How long into the run do you run unhooked to some extent? Do you see the eventual hook as something abrupt in the driveshaft data or can it even be seen? When it comes to suspended cars, and shock data, I imagine one would want the hit pretty neutral with very little, if any extension? I noticed the higher I took the two step in an attempt to get early wheel speed, the harder the suspension hit the tire. That's certainly counter productive. Anything special you guys that are suspended are doing bar wise? Foxtrot Juliet Bravo | |||

Yes, and have bested those numbers since. 1.02 60', 4.43 @ 151 hard on the brakes and tire shake at the hit. 1965lbs, 3195's. Still more in it. I've been 4.36 @159 1/8, 6.86 @198 1/4 with my 533" at about 1875 pounds. Single 4 barrel, profiler 12 degree heads that are from 2004, a "home built" converter, in a home built car on mickey thompson 3190 little bubbas .991 60' 4.36 @ 159 so far..... 6.86 @ 198 trying for more...... 533" single carb 235" Harrison 4-link | |||
