I said it early in this thread and I will say it again, .070 over with a stock 454 GM block is just asking for cracked cylinder walls

I agree with big Steve. Ive had them crack at .060 when the block had 7.4L on it.

There are a lot of .100 over 505's out there that don't agree with you, Big Steve. I'd bet they're probaby not leaning on them that hard,though

I've got a .070 over 454 in my Vega, but the block is poured to the bottom of the water pump holes.

I ran a old 289 casting stock block at .125" over with a 1/4" stroke crank for about 6 years never cracked a cylinder ended up with cracks in the deck then went to a dart block

454 block + .100 bore (not filled) with a .250 stroke crank, = 506 in the motor home I tow with for 7+ years no problems.
