I always used 1/2 bore squared x 3.14 x stroke x # of cyl.Thewn nobody use same formula for compression as I do.

Curtis just figured do math for you. You get answer, teach you math and you will always have answer

A .070" overbore on a stock 454 Chevy big-block engine (4.250" bore) results in a 4.320" bore, increasing the displacement to approximately 476 cubic inches.

The formula for volume of a cylinder is: V=pi*r^2*h where r is half the bore and h is the stroke. Then multiply by 8 cylinders.
