Header fitment question
Looking for any real world experience with Hooker header #2207HKR fitting a 1974 Chevy Nova with factory AC.
The AC evaporator cover is pretty close to the engine.
I believe this is the same chassis and such as the same year Camaro.
Thanks in advance

According to Hooker, it's 1st gen Camaros only.

No mention of A/C but I'm going to take a guess and say no way, just by looking at the tube configuration.

I'm curious though as to why you feel the need for an 1 7/8" primary tube?
I'm going to say those big tubes are going to make installation, and spark plug access, a nightmare.

Jesus, generic headers are $1000 these days? Eek

Mr. Goob I found some information on the actual hooker site after some digging and they fit both the Camaro and Nova without the AC Super Angry
New engine has Spiere angle plug heads so the 1 5/8 on the car are a bit too small. And yes getting to the straight plug #8 is a remove the inner finder well to access that plug difficult. I believe the angle plug will be a bit easier, hopefully.
The headers on the car are just some inexpensive street headers. Just looking for something better than what is on the car.
The Hooker PN I listed was the first set I found that claimed they would work with both straight and angle plugs.
Very open to suggestions.

And yes headers like every thing else racing related has gotten even more expensive.

Might take a look at the 166 series headers on this page....the only "stock clip" headers that do not specify that they won't clear the A/C box. Looking at the passenger side rear tube, there's a chance. I think 1 3/4" primaries are plenty for you.

I run the Schoenfeld 1 3/4" for the Malibu (186's) since 1999 or so, always been pleased with the quality and price. Had my newest ones coated.

Not meant to be street headers, but, with a little work they can work.
