In my case, I hope it gives the illusion I know what I'm doing...

I don't think anyone could question that you know what you are doing!!! See ya soon! I hope!!

There's absolutely no reason why every racer shouldn't just be waiting for the car in front of them to turn off the race track to prestage. I only make 3 runs a weekend (2 time runs and 1st round) and even I have this down.

Nobody has ever beaten me to pre-stage bulb. Many have tried. Go as fast or as slow as ya want.

I don't pre-stage until I see my CORRECT dial-in on the down-track scoreboards.

As stated above, people who have "helpers" lining them up, putting them in the water, finding the stage beam, etc, are slowing the program. Simple solution is to allow no crew people past the head of staging.

I agree with Ed!

Left or right lane I feel that I can get a foot from the pre stage bulb. Dragster or door car.
If you don't know where your front wheel is, you're not going to do well at the stripe.

My 2¢

we were all beginners once. If we don't want beginners to get involved in bracket racing because it slows things down, the sport is doomed to fail-along with the tracks and quite a number of businesses along with those.

It is going to take a while, that's the nature of bracket racing. Those with common sense will figure out the way things are done pretty quickly; others may need some coaching. That's where we all should be helping. And we don't have to be a d y ck about it. Good way to run up and coming racers off.

this isn't about beginners, it's about seasoned veterans and this thread was started after the OP made some observations watching the US Nationals, not a Friday night test/tune.

So again, no changes are need and if you need a cone to find the pre stage beam you've got no business being in a race car!!

Mike Rietow, never been beat to pre-stage? You ain't run at very many tracks then. Mop holders will help the locals beat you there.

Authorities have been known to tilt the table for regulars? Naw come on, you're kidding?! Smile

I was kidding, who keeps track of turning on the pre-stage first? Confused

Really? I have people asking to go, or when to go all the time. I prefer alone, but a friend cornered me on my first trip to Orlando this year. I figured he wouldn't show when I told him the train was leaving 5am.

He did show, he was actually low maintenance, and helped.

Fast learner, he video'd and had the fuel out by the road, every time I came back. I never told him to do anything.
