My son Rob is interested in buying a used AltaLab Trailer station that includes the pager system. He also will need to buy the latest Crew Chief prediction program from Don Higgins to complete the system.

Any help would be appreciated,

Bob

I had both and once I got it all working it's what I used successfully

I had a lot of trouble when I first bought it and could not get the built in Altalab live weather and prediction features to work

Since I bought CC Pro it really didn't matter as it worked fine and weather readings were transmitted to my laptop and pager

After a couple years I was able to get the Altalab live weather to work after downloading a newer update

I won the first race I ran using it all.....

Did a T&T early in the race as I also changed to a gas carb and base stop from injection and after about 5 runs I was feeling pretty good about the results

I did NOT rely totally on the WS and CC Pro but sometimes it was really good....

A buddy bought that entire system this past year and from what he's told me had nothing but trouble....I don't know why though

Another buddy had one before me without CC Pro and won a lot using the Altalab Live weather and that's what convinced me to buy it all

Running multiday events with a T-Stop makes it almost a must.....everybody else has one no matter who's it may be....

I still have my laptop and CC Pro......WS went with my trailer.....

Bob, we have been using Altalab since 2018 together with ifamily software without issue and our results with it over the past 5 seasons speak for themselves and prove there is nothing better, maybe something as good but nothing better.

I have both the Crew Chief prediction program and the AltLab Trailer Station. Rob wanted to buy everything from me, including the lap-top computer but I'm not about to parts ways with them. I've had both for a L-O-N-G time and never had any problems. Don Higgins at Crew Chief has been a huge help over the years, he and Michele have given me a lot of valuable suggestions.

I never tried using the AltaLab prediction feature, probably should have. AltaLab has also been very helpful over the years.

I'm am looking for the same items for Rob's trailer.

Bob this is a good example of how a question can be misunderstood on here or any other website .....

I thought you were asking about how well this system works......before your son bought one.

Finding one used is tough but I have seen them for sale occasinonally on some race parts sites and they usually are not complete or need something....

Personal opinion, buy the newer version of the Altalab. I was one of the few that had issues with the older one. They finally gave me some credit towards the new one, it’s been great.

The friend that bought one this past summer has a SS car and told me a short time ago his unit was not giving him the weather readings properly and he gave up !!

I believe he talked to Don at CC Pro and Altalab about some sort of problem they have with the weather sensors.....I don't know if he solved the issue yet...

I always thought mine was reading air temp inaccurately but it worked pretty well anyway and I won races with it

One race in particular had a huge weather swing from Sat to Sunday and I was way closer in rd 1 than most and ended up winning that race !
