The lsm sc-800 says springs from .800-1.600. The outside diameter of my springs measure 1.645 od. If I'm thinking right it'll still work on my springs since your putting the compressor on the retainer.

I agree with the LSM but the OP here said STUD mounted rocker arms and I do not remember seeing a LSM STUD mount valve spring compressor.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Buxton engineering has a nice one. Never tried it, but sure looks good. Probably too expensive to justify buying unless you are in the repair business.

.

Mine is a stud mount. I run Yella Terra rockers and they don’t use regular stands. I screw a normal stud in and throw my compressor on it.

The SC800 is for stud mount rockers. I also have the SC200 baseplate that just bolts on the bottom to use with shaft mount rockers.

If you have your regulator set where most tools want to be (90-100 psi) you should be just fine.

Even 60 is probably enough.

I have never used any air. I just bring the piston to tdc so the valve can’t fall into the cylinder. I know I do lots of things differently than most people but I just never saw the need to use air.

I turn mine down to 50ish. If the pressure is too high it’ll want to start turning the engine over.
