Are all of the Chevy trans mounts the same height, or are some shorter than others? I finally made some time today to work on my new project that has been sitting for over a year since I got it back from the shop that did the back half and cage installation. Car is a 77 Camaro stock front subframe with a 2x3 back half. Set up for a sbc with 1/4 inch thick front motor plate and a .095 steel mid plate. I put in an old 305 block and empty power glide case to look things over. When I tried to install the new tubular trans cross member that the shop built, my transmission mount hangs too low and I can’t install the cross bolts the hold the cross member to the frame. Looks like my mount hangs about 1/2 inch or so too low. I called the guy that did the work and he said it’s just a regular Chevy transmission rubber mount that is all I need. Does anyone have any experience with this or even better part number of a short mount if one exists.

Which mount do you have? Single bolt that sticks out, or one where you put 2 screws in it? The manual and automatic are different heights.
FYI the Pioneer 622268 (AKA Napa BK 6201031) is about 1/4 inch shorter than a normal one. This is a female mount. This message has been edited. Last edited by: sr4440,

It is a single bolt in the middle of the bottom side of mount. The one I have measured 2 inch thick. I need 1 5/8 thick. The one I have is one I found laying around in my garage. I think it’s the original mount from the car I’m working on. Car originally was a 305/th350 car.

That single stud is a metric mount, you need the original style female thread 2 bolt mount.
