Air shift issue

Guys kidAir shift issue
As most of you know it has been 14 years since I have been out to the track, I recently was able to get my car back on the track. The issue I am having right now is that when I turn on the ignition switch the air shifter stays in the forward position and will not release so that I can put it in other gears. Please help!

SP 124XIf you can unplug the wires to the air solenoid and it releases then you need to change the device shifting the car to normally open from normally closed. If it stays engaged with the wires disconnect it could be the solenoid stuck open or the air lines plumbed wrong depending on the solenoid style.

Guys kidHow do I do that?

GoobTurn the air off?
I'm guessing that the solenoid has stuck, or a seal has gotten dry.

So they were just installed and now problem has started? I hate to say this but if that is the case you may have to "GASP!" read the instructions. It may be wired or plumbed wrong?

Guys kidWe replaced the solenoids because we thought that was the issue.Obviously it was not. I have read the instructions and there's no troubleshooting, but thank you for your input.

This is the key question. What device controls the shift?

Guys kidIts a mega biondo digital delay. Its got biondo air solenoids, that we replaced thinking that's the issue, it was not. All instructions have been read. We are now thinking of replacing wires as the car has sat in our garage for so many years and Az heat could have deteriorated wires, we don't know yet.

markemarkWith a multimeter, place one lead on ground and the other to the “Shift” terminal on the delay box. Turn on power and if you read +12v at that terminal your delay box is programmed incorrectly.
Here’s how shift output is programmed. You want it set to “HI” which is normally open.
“The Shift Output is
displayed as either “LO” or “HI” along with the Shift Mode and Shift Number. When the Shift Output is set to “HI” (normally
open) it means the every time a Shift Point is reached the Shift terminal will go from a low (0 Volts) to a high (12 Volts).
When the Shift Output is set to “LO” (normally closed) it means the every time a Shift Point is reached the Shift terminal will
go from a high (12 Volts) to a low (0 Volts). Setting the Shift Output is done at the same time the Shift Mode is set for Shift
Number 1.”

Guys kidWe recently changed the batteries, I had to go back through all the screens to make sure they were set to HI( per Sal Biondo) . We knew it was something stupid easy but my brain was in panic mode.
