Not looking to be the next porting whiz, just do some minor blending.
What sizes and shapes of aluminum burrs should I get to do that? Flame, tree, etc?

Years past i have dealt with Goodson. They have been around forever. Here is a small kit. They sell everything. In regards to the Carbide pieces. they can run into some money. I have a set that over 30 years old when i had my valve equipment. This might be right up what you're looking for.
They sell a smaller kit also. This message has been edited. Last edited by: TD3550,

I used to manufacture stainless restaurant equipment and used these by the 100s. Sure would have been out of business fast at the prices above. The supplier I used didn't do retail or small orders, had to order a bunch. I used small air powered die grinders either expensive rebuildable ones or Harbor fright throw aways with lifetime warranty. I would take them back 10 at a time. Been out of that for 20 years so times and prices may have changed a bunch

If you get burrs for aluminum don't get the double cut. They are for ferrous metal. They will work but require more attention to keep them from loading up. You want single cut.

I'm glad someone mentioned lubricant. I hadn't thought of that.

The most versatile shaped cutter is egg shaped, both 3/8" and 1/2" diameters with a 6" shank. If you are just doing the bowl area a standard 3" shank will work. You do need to control the speed, especially with the longer shanks!

I have been using Greg's burrs for the last 6 months. Before that Circo File. I just buy 6" SE5's and cut to length. I use them until they are dead and throw them in a box. I use either WD40 or trans fluid.
I have 5)GEO Makita's going. Not the new China release, they suck. Have 5)air grinders going as well.
PS. STAY AWAY FROM THE CHEAP CHINEESE CRAP! YOU CAN LITTERLY BE KILLED. I WAS LUCKY!

No cylinder head work, just intake work.
Rustling around in my tool chest this morning I found a 6" shank, 3/8" flame shape, a 3/8" taper and a 1/2' cylinder with a rounded end. All non-ferrous cut. I had no idea I had these, where I got them, or how long I've had them.
Wouldn't the larger diameters cut faster and reduce digging holes?

Yes Sir, just like those cheap 10"/12" chop saw blades. Make darn sure you're life insurance is current. Explode is an understatement.
