Ok my 35 year old ATD 2K just failed... opinions, deals and recommendations please.

I have this one. GREAT JACK! This is also the one Snap on sued HF over and lost! A lot of jack for the money.

I have the same HF jack and happy with it so far.

If you want a heavier one look at the NAPA 3.5 ton part #791-6420 they are a nice jack for the money. They also have a 2 ton on sale now too I think its #791-6426.

Hein Werner makes quality jacks.

Can you rebuild it? I have an old 3 ton jack that I have made a new part for that wears out 3 times. I have had it for 30 years at least.

Not sure on most of the new jacks. They tend to be throw away units after they fail...Older jacks you could replace the check valves and such, I just don't think they make replacement parts for the new stuff, as it's generally cheaper just to get another one....

I have the same one.. 6420 IT is Heavy. Could not pass up the deal $50. Guy got out of TS racing. I just leave it in the trailer. Hate dragging it around. Load/unload..

Thanks guys! Yeah they are heavy but when u need a good jack it’s there. I had two of the alum junk... %#*€£&$@!!!?!!

I know a lot of racers who swear by the Daytona jack that Colorado Racer linked to.

I bought the low-profile steel 3 ton unit from HF 3 years ago:

It stays in my trailer and has had a bunch of use, (back when M/T's leaked, so I would swap the rears to a set of street wheel/tires after every race, before loading up, and then swap back to the slicks before each race).
That jack allowed me to raise the front of my A-Body car, set it on stands, then went low enough I could set a Turbo-400 on it, and roll it under the car from the side, and raise it up into position.

Bought the 4 ton low rider. Stout jack! Hope it lasts half as long as my old ATD!! The stocker is low and heavy! 3620#

I had my 80s something all steel Matco 2 ton floor jack hyd cylinder rebuilt for under $100 bucks, works like brand new. Hopefully it works for another 35 years

I tried for a week or longer to get ATD 5809 seal kit. But I did purchase in 1978...

I found a place online once that rebuilds floor jacks and am gonna try finding it again to have my steel one rebuilt.

I just took mine to a local hydraulic shop, the seals were pretty standard I guess
