BJs Wild RideThreaded blind bulkhead fitting?
I’m wondering if there is such a thing as a threaded bulkhead fitting for a blind setup. Like for a valve cover breather if you couldn’t take the valve cover off the motor? Needs to be about 1” or a little larger. Seems like it could be a thing but maybe just no demand. Looking for something slightly more secure than a push in grommet but really don’t want to take the welder to it.

wideopen231Doubt VC thick enough to tap. Could weld fitting oin inside room orovided. Run any tittin that will accept o-ring. Could have tube with kjnner thread and threaded at base to allow to kinsert thru bottom then run a nut down ion it from top with o-ring around bottom of it, There you go new design

RPROGASPro Werks makes several:
Cap sizes are: 1 5/8, 2 inch, 2 3/4, 4 1/4 . 1/2 tall, 1 inch tall, 2 inches tall. Polished, black, red and blue. All with "O" rings and 4 10/32 mounting hardware for a perfect vacuum seal.
I bought mine from Speedway but also available from Chassis Shop or Pro Werks direct.

BJs Wild RideThe one at the speedway link might work if I use sheetmetal screws. This is for my puke tank (boosted methanol). I’ve cleaned it out and welded on it once, but even though I flushed it a bunch of times, as soon as I took the welder to it, I started smelling methanol, which is pretty unsettling. I’d rather not try that again

1: When I weld tanks I set them outside and run a garden hose in it for a while. The other tried and true but spooky method is to let it air out for a while and then wave your propane torch at the entrance. It might or might not go POOF. Either way it's good to go weld.
2: Not fond of the metal screw idea. On something like .060 wall use a fine thread tap. Loctite the bolt or even better a stud.
3: If your intent is to use this as a breather port you will need to modify a AN Union for the filter to clamp to and also fit the piece you buy (not AN?) or make.
That bolt on piece is reasonably simple. It's something I could CNC. It won't be production priced but you can get it any way you want.
