inferno camaroCost to build 6.0 cert doos car
I've been looking for a replacement for my car and have found a couple that were never finished. One has been sitting since 2016, the chassis basically complete with body mounted 6.0 single frame rail. The other is much closer to complete, it is 6.0 double frame rail car built it 2023. Curious what cost to build a new one.

inferno camaroThe double frame rail car has everything mounted, carbon interior and tubs, Mark Williams rear, wheelie bars. Needs pulled apart and chassis painted. Has basically everything with it to finish including wiring kit, lexan is in it, comes with brake line kit, shifter, ignition, data logger w rpm perf dash, delay box, fuel pump, radiator and the list goes on and on. Can buy it for roughly 45K. Seems really cheap to me (45K for an unfinished toy

) but I've never built one so not sure. I just don't want to get upside down right from the start.

Be really careful! I would have it NHRA cert/ inspection before I purchased .

LincolnUpside down now or upside down later, take your pick lol. I would stay with a well known builder to help mitigate that situation if it were me. Buchwald has a nice Ness Grand Am for sale reasonable.

Al AlguireI have been working on one for the last couple of years. Start to finish it was over $125K

inferno camaroI have talked to the guy that build them both. Guy has over 90K in the car to this point. I would pay for a cert before I buy for sure.
Where is that car located?

racerdude2054If you want to see every receipt and all details, I can show you. It’s easy to get carried away with parts
But to build a car from the ground up that’s 25.1 or 25.2 that is a complete roller with paint, headers, wiring, and plumbing. It will be well north of 100K
You will be looking at 70K in parts alone as silly as it sounds
J&E has a COPO Camaro sitting on a 25.2 chassis that will be for sale at PRI

inferno camaroDefinitely expensive hobby, I'm going to PRI to look at stackers. Maybe find someone with a car as well.

AlaskaracerI know that a competitive pro mod these days is in the neighborhood of $500k turn key. If I had to guess for a complete top sportsman deal, easily well over $100k

inferno camaroI'm guessing this car painted and all I would be 75k or so for the double rail car.

RPROGASAdding up the cost of a reasonably competitive Top Sportsman ($125,000) a used stacker trailer ($55,000) and a nice but used diesel motorhome ($52,000) plus one year chasing NHRA points, (another $7,000), roughly $240,000.
That doesn't include maintenance on the car, trailer and tow vehicle plus all the time away from work where you earn a living. All to possibly win
what ?????? $5,000, makes perfect sense
IF you won a Power Ball Lottery.
