I do agree that 2-3/8" primaries seems too large for a 498.

Rich, for discussion sake, do you remember what size headers were on the car with your 460? That is very respectable performance out of a "small" BBC (by today's standards). But not surprising - After all, wasn't it you who built the remarkably fast 454 that was in Ed's old 68 Chevelle?
