First, I need to explain that I have bought and installed many drag race brake kits. In the last few days, I called several of the top-rated companies just to get myself up to speed with the current offerings.
To my surprise, two of those top-rated companies said, "we recommend such and such systems and also, we recommend a Wilwood master cylinder, which we have in stock under our number such and such.
I find it odd that these companies who are asking $1,500.00 - $1,800.00 for a front brake kit are not able to engineer and bring to the market a master cylinder. It also seems odd that they openly endorse another brake companys product.

Lamb used to sell a Chrysler master that they say they modified.
I used one more than once on a door car and it did work well.
I had the very small "spot" fronts and Wilwood rears on one car and the Lamb master fixed my issues with what was on there previously.

I have the Wilwood/Mopar master cylinder in my Firebird, It’s the gold standard used by most chassis builders. That said, it’s probably not made by Wilwood and Strange sells it too. This message has been edited. Last edited by: 1320racer,

Why do you think that it wouldn't be manufactured by Wilwood? They have many different styles of master cylinder but don't make this one?

Because there’s nothing propriety about it, it’s generic, looks the same as strange, Mopar and others.

For my compressors I had machine shops make many parts for me. Heads, cylinders, water separators, filter chambers, filters etc. My company did not do any casting or machining there but they were my parts. I came up with the ideas, the drawings, blueprints and specs for them, they were MY parts.
If you buy a master cylinder from WILWOOD and it says WILWOOD right on the casting I am going to go out on a limb here and say it is a WILWOOD part. They may have a Foundry do the casting, a machine shop do machining on them and final assembly there, or they may do machining and assembly there I do not know or care. But if you buy it from WILWOOD and it says WILWOOD on casting I have no reason to think it is not a WILWOOD part. Pretty Simple even for an Ediot.

OP, didn't specify a specific Wilwood master cylinder; most have Wilwood in the casting.
That being said ours have Wilwood in the casting.

The rest of their master cylinders are JUNK like their brakes and you won’t find that junk on any chassis built by a professional shop.
Now what part of the TRUTH and the FACTS don’t you understand.

the Truth and the FACTS are you're a CLUELESS idiot that thinks he knows and my Wilwood "Mopar" style master cylinder, is the go to MC for race cars with aftermarket braking systems, installed by most professional chassis builders, does NOT Have Wilwood's name anywhere on it.
