Continuing to work on my future "retirement race car", and wanting to know what you guys are using for seats these days? 68 Camaro with S&W 10 point cage, gutted, back-halved, tubbed, welded frame connectors, etc. Not looking to go with a custom or poured seat, just an off-the-shelf piece that is comfortable, safe and well suited for bracket racing. I have an aluminum Kirkey that I was going to mount in it, (not super comfortable, but it is functional. Sucks to sit in during a long track cleanup). Ordered the wrong mounting brackets, can't use them, so while I am at a standstill on it, got to thinking maybe I need a different seat altogether. Have heard a couple guys swear by the plastic Summit seats, but not yet convinced. Just looking to hear what some of you are using that are happy with, (or any cautionary advice on a seat you would NOT recommend). These cars are much easier to drive the stripe when you are sitting a bit higher, rather than on the floor. So hoping for pointers on something with adjustable mounting height brackets, and maybe even sliders for front-to-back adjustment, since my son is a bit taller than I am, and he may drive it some. As always, thanks in advance for your thoughts & advice. Dan "Jim" Moore Much too young to feel this damn old!!

I have a Kirkey, comfortable as a lazy boy recliner. I added padding and have it angled to my liking. I see some straight up/ down, I think how do they race like that. I usually over think everything I do. I'm always pretty darn happy with it, when I'm done. Put a condensed foam under your azz in the seat and foam like a sponge under the bottom of your legs just behind your knees. I added foam to the lumbar as well. Tilt it back a hair. Glue it to the metal tub wherever you want it. A dune buggy seat you'll end up with a bad back.

My Kirkey is like a poured seat, when I sit down in it, it's like a glove, I have foam at the hip too. Best thing I ever did for my back, was that seat. Go to an upholstery shop, they typically have differently condensed foam. My guy had scraps he gave me.

X2 on the Kirkey. Had the plastic one in our 68 Camaro & switched, love it! Our 80 Camaro has the plastic seat. Have a new Jegs/Kirkey to replace it soon. 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3000 lbs. Pump Gas 436

I just installed a Kirkey and I love it but did have to add high density foam in the lower back area for lumbar support. I don't care for the Jaz because the lap belt holes are too high and too far forward. It probably isn't a problem for most people but I'm too skinny for it to pull down tight enough without adding a lot of padding under me and behind me. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

I'm old and have had 3 back surgeries. I replaced my old plastic Jaz racing seat with a Procar Sportsman seat. It is much more comfortable than the old one. 72 Nova "Hooptie"

How are the people using procar/upholstered seats anchoring to the roll cage? The poly seats from the 80's are getting a little uncomfortable!

I would think oversized Kirkey with poured in insert would make it perfect

The space between the seat belt holes in the head rest is solid. I drilled a 1/4 hole and used a button head bolt to secure it to a piece of tubing welded to the roll cage for support. 72 Nova "Hooptie"
