Just as the subject says, has anyone tried it? If so, how much did you gain over regular methanol? Did you have to jet the carburetor up, or was the fuel mixture close to the same?

Jet it up 4-8 sizes and see what happens. Then lean it back out for mph if it doesn hurt a plug on the 1st run. Sometiems, m5 likes 1-2 degrees MORE timing, but the fuel has to be right, or youll burn that beech up

as far as et gain, if the converter is tight, it will pick up alot more than if its loose.

My experience with Nitro was with mechanical injection so it is not exactly apples to apples but it is important. 5% Nitro picked up car about .1 in 1/8 mile. With mechanical injection you do not need to make any jet changes because it pumps volume and pressure and not pulling fuel through suction of boosters. Carb you need to jet it up more because the nitro is heavier.

When car got hot or higher mixtures there would be a problem and with blown motor you may get into that at lower mixes like with the M5. Car ran great down track and the Nitro was faster and consistent. The problem is it would detonate hard WHEN ON TWO STEP at higher mixes or hotter temps. My combination was safe at 5% but from there not so much.

I believe on my set up with my compression etc probably could have ran 25% if I was footbraking it but you can not cut a quick consistent light like that on a Pro Tree. Nitro does not like two step from my experience and hurt parts.

NA I do not think you would ever have a problem with M5 which is basically 5% blend. Or even with mechanical injection until you use two step. But with blown application and if you are on the TWO STEP you may and it hurts stuff quickly. Expensive stuff.

My combination did not need or want any more timing even at 10%.

Sorry can not directly answer your question I think you should be okay on a carb if you jet it up but if it pops or bangs or anything on the Two Step shut it down you are melting stuff. "Probably" be okay but.......

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

M5 uses nitroparaffins. Although it is used in nitromethane, it is not nitro.

"A nitroparaffin is a compound of a nitro group (\(NO_{2}\)) attached to an alkane (paraffin), such as nitromethane, nitroethane, and 1-nitropropane. These are typically liquids at room temperature and share similarities in their chemical and toxicological behavior. Nitroparaffins are used in various applications, including as components in explosive compositions."
