I've only done it once, shifting at 0.300 to keep the car above 7.50 in the 1/4 mile. It felt really weird, but the car was good and got me to a $7500 final round. I've never run high gear only to have a comparison.

I was shifting at .750 Saturday to slow down enough to run 6.00, it does work.
Mid 5.70s off the foot and high 5.90s off the brake, same day.
A little off topic but on Friday I made a Footbrake time trial and ran 5.798 leaving at 2700 shifting at 6800. Forgot to change to time shift on my 6.0 time trial and went 5.797 leaving at 4000 off the button still shifting at 6800.
