From the second post it all went to $h!+. All because of a wannabe that thinks he knows it all blows it all. Admin knows it and yet does nothing about it and wonders why it all goes to Cr@p.

1legWe at Meziere recommend running some kind of additive to keep the rust down. The biggest issues customers have with any of these products is they don't follow the instructions. Alot of the products Don't want you to use tap water.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: When used in a 50/50 mix, add 1 ounce of HyperKuhl per quart of coolant. When used in straight water coolant, add 1.5 ounces of HyperKuhl per quart of coolant. Because water transfers almost 50% more heat than glycol, best results will be achieved by using as little glycol in coolant as possible. For straight water coolant, reverse osmosis (RO) water is recommended. Most bottled drinking water consists of RO water. Do not use distilled water unless mixed with 50% antifreeze. Add HyperKuhl once per year or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. After 5th year, drain, clean/prime cooling system with HyperKuhl Flush, and refill. Neglected cooling systems that are heavily contaminated should be flushed with HyperKuhl Flush prior to treatment.
Meziere Tech.
Make sure your water pump is on whenever you check your coolant level.

AlaskaracerStraight water with Amsoil coolant additive to help with keeping the corrosion at bay, then drain and refill with good ole' antifreeze in the off season. I do that just to keep corrosion from building up and help with lubrication for the water pump...

markemarkAfter viewing the HyperKuhl information, it looks almost same as the Lucas Super Coolant that I use and like. I tried Water-Wetter for 5 years and found it to be a poor product imo for my racing engine.
I’m in the Upper Midwest, it can and has gotten to -25 during the winter. 50/50 in my engine for winter. I remove 50/50 in spring, add water 1x, remove and fill with water. Always some residue from the 50/50, but don’t think it’d be a problem to clean in the event of a leak. I install new radiator hoses every 3 yrs, same as flexplate.

As you know anti freeze is against the rules. Thanks but no thanks.
All the additives are the same as anti-freeze, just less of it.

That said, I use
distilled water and about 4 oz. of Nalcool or Prestone additive.

xtended_s10Ive been using the Joe Gibbs csp. Seems to do pretty good on corrosion and lubricates the waterpump.

Curly1I believe the Glycol is what NHRA does not want on the track. If the No-Rosion stuff has Glycol then it may not be any different than Anti Freeze as far as NHRA is concerned.
If it does not have the Glycol then it certainly is worth checking out.

From their tech section about their product.
Q. Does No-Rosion provide freeze protection?
A. No. No-Rosion does not contain any glycol, and therefore provides no protection against freezing.
