Coolant corrosion product
Hey guys. I just wanted to share a product that I have started using this year. I had in the past just run water in my radiator. I would get rust in the water as you would imagine. Many years ago I tried Water Wetter and had also tried Hy-per cool. I had the radiator cap come loose using the Water Wetter and it etched the aluminum that it came into contact with and I hated the smell. The Hy-per lube just didn't keep down the rust.

This year I tried No-Rosion for aluminum radiators. I have had zero rust in the system using it. I don't mind the way it smells and it is also a wetting agent although that wasn't a big concern to me. I have been really happy with this product. I have nothing to do with the company so not being a salesman just passing along a product I think works well. They have one for brass and one for aluminum radiators.

They also have a good technical explanation on type of water to use and why.

From there web page…

“DID YOU KNOW... No-Rosion was in the cooling systems and fuel systems of eleven award-winning classics at the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance!”

With this as their sales pitch I’m not interested.

Telling me that million + dollar trailer queen cars stored in climate controlled facilities
whose engines rarely if ever run, had their snake oil in the cooling system at the most prestigious car show in the world, means nothing to me and our race cars. I’ll have to ask Sam Mann who I know that has won pebble beech twice iirc.

So don't use it. I'm giving a first hand account of a product that I use and how it has worked.

Thanks Curtis! I have been using the Red Line water wetter/lubricant. I drain block and radiator every winter even in the south. I may have to give that product a try.

I won’t! Further I’ve been running straight water in the cooling systems of all 3 race cars I raced over the past 3O years without issue. Last Redlines water wetter is also snake oil, don’t do shyt for our cooling systems.

Thanks for sharing. I tried Water Wetter and Hyperlube and settled on Lucas additive. When I figured out the RO water instead of distilled water it made a difference with the Lucas additive.

If brownish water is a concern for you in your race car cooling system just pour a $5 bottle of Prestone anti rust in or 8 oz of of your favorite color concentrated anti freeze.

As you know anti freeze is against the rules. Thanks but no thanks.

Wow this derailed quickly. I like the lubrication properties of Water wetter and the Lucas product (green). They are good for the coolant factor and the the lubrication of the water pump as well.

-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I've been using No-Rosion's Hyperkuhl product since the first of the year. When I pulled the intake to change to the Bam lifters everything looked great. I will continue to use this product.

That’s cool Vern. Glad someone else has had the same experience as I have.

Thanks Curtis, I’ll be looking into that.

You have to put in the effort, to get anything out of it.
