Finally went from 7AL to Digital box - Suggestions?
My 30 year old 7AL ignition finally died so I bought a Digital box. Any suggestions for bracket racing and Super Comp on these boxes?

You are aware that MSD 7531 ignitions are restricted to Pro Mod class only. In NHRA, General Regulations, 8:3 Ignition, "The use of any programmable multi-point rev limiter and/or a
rate-of-acceleration rpm limiter, either by themselves (e.g., MSD 7561, MSD 7761) or integrated into the ignition system (e.g., MSD 7531), is prohibited in NHRA competition".

I typed the wrong number, it is a 7530.

I never really paid attention to the ignition boxes before because old reliable 7AL2 never seemed to have issues. I was basically given this ignition box so I am trying to figure out if there are any settings I should be concerned about.

It fired right up after installing and the only thing I've set are the rev limiters.

Digital 7 are excellent ignition boxes although obsolete now. Easily programmed with MSD Graphview that runs on any windows platform. The 7530T was popular, has 3 step, rpm, time outputs, start retard and programmable retards. If your ignition coil is as old as the failed 7al replaced, you might consider replacing it as well. The 7530T outputs 190mj.
