I had a set of valve cover gaskets that were made from a hard composite with rubber ridges. They felt like plastic with the rubber ridges protruding on the sealing surfaces. It wasn't the metal core with rubber. Those are what engine guy put on it after he lost mine. They already tore. These other ones you could snap the stud off and it wouldn't hurt them.
Hoping someone knows the part number. BBC application.. They were blue like the felpros

Thanks

I believe I ended up with a similar gasket for my son's SBF. I believe they are a standard felpro not felpro performance.

Thanks guys. These are the ones a buddy at AutoZone ordered and will be in today. Their picture didn't represent that I had though. Maybe generic picture. I'll let you know tonight. I just didn't want to waste more time if someone had the correct part number. I'd order from summit or kegs. Felpros site is no better.

Yeah I run the same type on my small block. They are 1628. You can tighten them as much as you want because of the spacer made into the bolt hole and you won't crush them. I thought the BB version was the 1635 though.

I've had excellent results with Cometic V/C gaskets.

The Fel-Pro VS50090R are rubber and the 1635 is Silicone/Steel. I use sbc 1628 Silicone/Steel same as Curtis.

Well the vs50090R gaskets came into AutoZone. They appear to be what I used. I also have the suggested 1635 coming from Amazon. The AutoZone ones have nice brass inserts and a hard composite with rubber beads. Pretty certain they are what I had before.
