Are the Snell SA2020 helmets available at this time? Also, are SFI shoes/boots required for Super Comp?

I can't answer your helmet question, but I've never worn SFI footwear in Super Comp. Tony Leonard

Yes, they are required.... Section 9, Page 2 of the rulebook states that a neck collar (minimum), 3.2A/5 suit, gloves, and boots is mandatory. If the combo is supercharged or turbocharged on alky, or if the transmission is located in the driver's compartment (auto trans), suit must meet /15 specs, gloves and boots remain /5. If you don't wear a neck collar, you must have a HANS, and use either a skirted helmet or head sock. I think most manufacturers are selling the 2020 helmets now but I could be wrong on that part. Thanks for your responses. This is what I just found in the new 2020 rule book. Super Pro 7.50 or slower: It appears the boots response only applies to 9.99 (*6.39) to 7.50 (*4.50) front-engine open-bodied vehicles with nitrous oxide, supercharger, or turbocharger(s): Jacket and pants meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/15, gloves, and shoes or boots meeting SFI Spec 3.3/5 mandatory. Super Pro 7.50 or slower: 9.99 (*6.39) to 7.50 (*4.50 ) or any vehicle exceeding 135 mph: Jacket and pants meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/5 and gloves meeting SFI Spec 3.3/1 mandatory, except as noted above. All open-body vehicles running 11.99 or quicker: Gloves meeting SFI Spec 3.3/1 and arm restraints mandatory. Super Gas and Super Comp: • PROTECTIVE CLOTHING - Driver of any car faster than 135 mph, jacket and pants meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/5 and gloves meeting SFI Spec 3.3/1 mandatory, - When automatic transmission is located in driver compartment: jacket and pants or suit meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/15, gloves meeting SFI Spec 3.3/5, and boots or shoes meeting SFI Spec 3.3/5. The 2020 model year cars and trucks are on dealer lots, so where are the 2020 helmets? Unlike the auto industry, the Snell Memorial Foundation sets a strict calendar for the testing, manufacture, and rollout of helmets certified to each 5-year SA standard. Snell SA-rated helmets are NEVER available before the year of the SA standard. To ensure a level playing field, Snell typically does not allow manufacturers to sell the new helmets until the fall of the year of the SA standard. SA2020 is no exception. Is anyone making SA2020 helmets yet? The final Snell SA2020 standard has been published, and manufacturers began submitting their 2020 helmets for testing in the summer of 2019. But Snell will not even release the SA2020 decals to manufacturers until April 2020. Anyone claiming to have Snell SA2020 helmets for sale prior to April 2020 is committing fraud! When can I buy an SA2020 helmet? Snell will not allow manufacturers to advertise or sell their SA2020 approved helmets until October 1, 2020. If you need a new SA-rated helmet for the 2020 racing season, you will need to buy an SA2015 helmet. 6.41@221 (so far) 4.11@178 off the shelf/built it myself
