Schaeffer oil
I am curious if some of you are using Schaeffer oils and products. I am considering becoming a stocking dealer for the Longview, TX area, and selling out of my trailer at local bracket races.

I used their products for years while I was working It is a great product in the right application. It was made for construction and industrial use, and the price reflects that. I used it applications that had a need for more protection from extreme load bearing and heat. I cant see paying upwards of three times the price for their products for general purpose use. If you can be competitive with the products that are out there that we use for our sport, it would be well worth it.

Qtrrcr,

Schaeffer offers a comprehensive range of automotive and racing products, with pricing comparable to other popular brands.

Thanks to each of you for your feedback. I think selling Schaeffer products will be a good fit for me. It is a high-quality, excellent product. The company is family-owned, the pricing is in line with the market, and there is a warehouse near me in Dallas. Additionally, having a business in the new shop will allow for depreciation of the building and other tax advantages—all of which are beneficial.

I've used Schaeffer micron moly in all my drag engines for the past 20 years with outstanding results. At 100 dollars a case the price is comparable to most race oils. I only wish it was available at local stores.

Larry its all I have used in the last 30 plus years. We used to have A Shaeffers rep come by my work place way back and got me hooked on it for my race engines.
I have to say all I have ever run was bracket motors 355 to 406 all these years and have never had a failure due to the oil its always been a parts thing. Bearings always looked as good as the day the went in. Funny thing I *****ed about the cost back then being 3.75 a qt now its something over 13.75 now a qt. But when you have boo coo dollars in a good motor it doesnt matter. I still buy it and will continue. Best of luck

I think many racing oils are very good. I’ve tried six different brands to date and honestly think all were good.

In the pic the Schaeffers sample on right came from an engine I put 500 runs on and removed in late 2018. I used two other brands of oil along the way in this engine. When my builder tore the engine down in 2022 he saved the bearings to show me. Bearings looked excellent and he said I should be able to run twice as long.

The spare engine that’s a clone internally but different block was installed 2019 and over 900 runs now will be replaced sometime this summer at 1000+ runs. I’ve switched to full synthetic oils and the left sample is one I used in 2024. I was surprised at the amount of Moly it had compared to Schaeffers that’s known for high Moly content.

Schaeffers Oil has been an excellent product for our engines. The 565 in the dragster has over 1000 runs on it. Took the heads off for the first time last Fall and all they needed as a touchup on the valve job. Intake gasket about two years ago. Oil samples are perfect. We ran methanol fuel and Micron Moly 40wt race oil with Accusump in the dragster
The 406" in the S10 is closing in on a 1000 runs, freshened the heads a couple times because they were used when we built it. same lifters, pan has never been off. Still runs with .10 of when it was new. Methanol fuel, Schaeffers Micron Moly 20/50 race oil.
The 8.3 Cummins in the motorhome is on Schaeffers 15/40 diesel oil and the rear ends in the race cars and the motorhome are on Schaeffers Gear Oils.
100% confidence in the product.
