Good evening. I'm looking for input on seat belts/harnesses. It's my understanding for NHRA purposes, they need to be updated every 2 years. I assume this means either replaced or recertified. My car currently has a Simpson 5 point harness. Way out of date since we parked the car in 2014. I understand Simpson doesn't recertify their harnesses. Who would you recommend for a new harness? I'd prefer one who can/will recertify their harness and one who pays contingency. Not that I expect to be paid any contingencies, but I prefer to consider the folks who offer that, to support racers. Thanks.

Stroud Safety or Pro-1 Safety is the only two I will use. Both American made.

Pro 1 for sure. And I would get the quick adjusters on top belts and the magnets are a cool option to.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I use RCI, made in Texas and if you get the platinum belts, they send you a certificate for a free recert for a total of four years...and yes, you can get platinum back from the recert as well...

Have had RCI platinums and now Pro1. For years I’d read about the platinums being stiff but never encountered it. The last set was really hard to adjust so switched to pro 1. They cost a little more and the recert isn’t free but they’re really nice. The pro adjusters are a nice option for the shoulder belts.

Your choice but I like the camlock style over the latch type. My last sets were Racerdirect which I believe is the same company as RJS. They will recertify if less than 8 years old.

Pro 1 all the way!

I finally splurged on camlocks, and Pro 1 is one of the few that intelligently put the buckle on the anti-sub belt.
I don't know why all belt latches aren't that way, too many people not using theirs.
