I agree they are good and people should wear them (I wear mine when going slower than 7.50 too) but I struggle sometimes with things like this being required. To some extent if someone doesn’t want to wear one it should be their choice, this is America and if you want to be a dumbazz and hang your head out of the cage and get it taken off that’s your choice. It doesn’t affect anyone else unlike the poor decisions with the crashes this weekend but I also understand it could make insurance go up for everyone else.

I dont believe it is fair to the safety crews or other racers to have to try and remove a person from a car that wasnt wearing proper safety equipment when they wrecked or burned a car up.

Just remember that freedom excuse could result in a family member dealing with a husband, son, brother that thought their stupidity, is only their liability. In other words, it’s selfish to think safety is only your concern.
