Fuel Regulator Mounting
I am in the process of setting up the fuel system in my dragster for the first time. I am using a Magnafuel regulator. I tried using the Magnafuel bracket but it puts the regulator too close to the carb to run the lines. Does anyone know of anyone that makes a bracket that mounts the regulator some where else. Could you send pictures of how yours are mounted? Is anyone just hanging theirs by the hoses?

mine "hangs" but the fuel hose and filter screwed into the bottom of it have it secure.

Tony mine is mounted to the motor plate. PM me your phone number and I will send you some pictures. I might have another mount lying around somewhere.

This subject has been discussed several times in the past and the advice was to not mount it to a rigid fixture. The thinking was that it adversly effects the internal mechanisms that regulates the pressure, the vibration created a problem.

You might contact the manufacture who made your regulator and ask them.

To be safe I floated the regulator in my car.

Bob is correct. Fuel regulators should not be mounted in a solid fashion due to harmonics and vibration.

I wouldn't mind hanging it by the lines if it was under a hood but out in the wind on a dragster doesn't sound good. I am going to see if I can fabricate something with rubber bushing.

You should be able to use the mount mine an several others are done this way...yes the lines to carb with fittings an all are probably only 6”...never a problem an that is with a -6 line to carbs

Although it's a good idea, I have never seen any negative effects from solid mounting. My is solid mounted and my Racepak shows a nice smooth steady fuel pressure graph.

Solid mount on insulators. I don't run a pressure gauge. Due to the obvious, Leak and fire. Set/Check/remove.. Little 1650 works well.

Those little 1 1/2 gauges have about as much accuracy as a bent shotgun. Junk.
Use to get them in the cal lab, all over the place in readings.

I have always done this because I was told years ago it was the correct thing to do. I never had a fuel pressure issue so I never changed what I was doing.

That said I have seen and worked on other set ups where they are mounted solid and never seen an issue from it.

I have the new Aeromotive A3000 reg setup and it's hanging off the hoses. I do have a zip tie going over to the water neck to keep it from bouncing all over the place but other than that it's just there. Not a problem one....two carbs and a nitrous reg plus the return....

Had 4 in the lab once, they are a pretty low accuracy spec, the all 4 were within spec, but they all read different. Same with tire gauges.

Thank you to everyone who replied. I wound up making a bracket that bolts to the front intake bolt. I also put a vibration mount between the regulator and the bracket.
