On a given day, drop back rpm is typically a few hundred (+/-) higher than stall in low gear.
Bingo! Pretty much true for anything that has a close/correct combo other than a serious blown car.

AlaskaracerMine flashes (in florida) to about 67xx. Don't remember the exact numbers, I'd need to check my logs....just going off memory right now...shift at 7300, fallback was about 6400ish? Now I'm going to have to go back and see if I can find the logs......car is consistent though....driver, well.........
New data next year back in Denver!

NC3x58I've always been told 600-800 is a good spot to be in if the motor has a nice flat torque curve and makes decent power.. Most guys around me that run decent are 6600-6700 stall, 7300-7500 actual rpm shift and fall back to 6700-6800 typically. Ed's real life numbers are a good example of this actually in his dragster.
