Rob7181Headsock drying
If and when we go racing this year, I plan to start wearing my head and neck restraint and will need to wear a headsock. How does everyone dry them between runs or do you just keep a couple and swap them every few runs? I will wash them week to week, but wondered about sweat during each day of racing.

I had Simpson install a helmet skirt this off season, way better that a head sock, its also much longer than a sock offering much more protection from fire getting inside the helmet which is the whole point

1320racerexactly and a whole lot better than putting a dirty sweaty sock over your head/face every round.

Do the skirts need to be added by the manufacturer or can they be added by the end user? I have never dealt with a helmet skirt before but it sounds better than the sock.

1320racerEither or. Our helmet skirt is attached with Velcro that comes with it.

Rob7181So with a skirt you put the helmet on and put the strap on, tuck it in the jacket, zip jacket up and then put on Head and Neck restraint?

TORQINA small fan does the job with the head sock and that skirt s u x at 100 degrees...

CURTIS REEDI thought about a skirt but the headsock keeps my helmet lining cleaner and it's easy enough to wash it with water between rounds, lay it on the cage and let it dry. Cheap enough to replace once in a while also compared to lining of the helmet.
Using my cool shirt vest I don't sweat that much anyway.

Top355xThought about buying cheap electric leaf blower and making a bracket to blow into helmet to dry in between rounds could do same with head sock

Curly1I have two head socks and one skirt. Use what ever you want, does not matter. I usually wear the head sock and then throw it in the washer after each race.

183NI use a head sock. I’d rather get that sweaty instead of the helmet liner. Throw it over the roll bar after a run and it’s usually dried out by the next run. If it’s a super hot day I put a slightly sweaty sock on for the next run, no big deal.
I’ve never used a neck roll but I imagine that it’s very hot on a hot day.

369dragsterI still use a neck collar with my Hans, cut it down a little and slide it through.
