ski_dwn_itWell that was a first
This weekend at Keystone last race ever was in the 4th round and launched car. It did its usual thing and then went hard left. Kept it under control and off the barrier. Knew something broke by the sounds of it. Sheared the 35spline axle clean off outside the bearing of the large end Ford axle end. Wheel luckily did not hit anything body wise and was only being held on by the TBM caliper and broken twisted bracket.
Car is 3304lbs and runs 1.24X 60t times. Just bought a new rear third member and I questioned Strange and they said I would never break any of that stuff. Axles have been in for 6 seasons - probably 1200+ runs. Had them out earlier in the seasona and did not see anything when I replaced the third member.
