I spoke with Chris Barker yesterday, he suggested running the 18370 15x33 Hoosier. he thinks the sidewall might be a little too stiff on the 18372. I respect his opinion since he sells Goodyear, M/T, and Hoosier. Chris also said if the sidewall on the 18370 was a little soft I could put a tube in it to stiffen it up some.
Dtye and Inferno you guys are making some good power, Oakley has his program figured out for sure. I'm making about half of that, my stuff is just light, a little over 1900lbs. I just have a 421 small block. I appreciate your guys responses.

When you get some time on the 18370 I would be interested in your opinion on it. I had considered running that tire myself for the roll out. I run 8.0lbs in the 18250 and was surprised when I went to that tire how weak the sidewalls are.

Sent you a private message Joe. Mis print it is a 18370, not a 18300.

JAFR,I tried a set of 18370s on my suspended altered cause that's what Hoosier recommended.Man they shook like crazy, the 05 compound was way too soft and agressive for my light car.I hope they work out for ya!By the way, looking at your picture,it's true your car doesn't kill the tire like mine, lol. I know Hoosier says D5 is a dead hook compound and that is probably what you are wanting. I have a buddy that ran the 18370 D5 on a roadster that ran 5.90 and he had good luck with them and could run them until tread was gone.

Hi Joe.

This is how I run them, some models may vary:

Those 18370'S are on 15 inch rims, 16 screws (8 in front in back), no tubes in a 112 inch roadster with a decent 582. I run them at 7.25 - 7.50, medium on both Koni shock settings, normally a short 3.5 to 4 second 5700 burn out will go red on a frozen pound and I've never rattled them. Great consistent tire on a Pro .400 tree.

Only issue is, get ready for a serious fight installing the rim screws the beads must have un-obtanium in them. Next time..... bead locks!

JAFR,the 18372 is the tire I have on my door car. It is a really stiff sidewall tire and works great and sidewalls last with these. I ran the Mickey 3080 before these, you're right the sidewall went away pretty quick. My 60 is only 1.10-1.11 but my car weighs 2550 race ready. I had a suspended altered before this car and wish the 18372 had been out then, it worked best(and no shake) with the 3080.Oh,and they work best with 7lbs. of air.

I would like to know more about this as I need 3080's but they aren't available. My car is 124" wheelbase s-10 tube chassis, 4.56 gear and has a mini blower 582 motor in it that makes a little over 1250hp. it went 4.30's in my 2100 lb dragster. Just trying to understand the pro's and con's to the 18372 vs the 3080.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Anyone else have any experience in a 5.20-30 door car with these tires?

changing directions and should be going 4.70's with a 582 mini blower. S-10 will weigh in around 2500lbs on the starting line, 4.30 gear and make about 1300 real hp. Same motor that was in my dragster that went consistent 4.40 @158 at 2100 lbs.
