If you’re using your rear view mirror to judge the closing rate of fast dragsters, you won’t be turning on many lamps.

Check Ebay for some of those mirrors that clip on to your original mirror.

Whatever you use, they do come in handy. You might not be able to judge the closing rate, but if somebody is broken and sitting on the starting line, you don't want to be featured on DoubleOOSh*tshow on Facebook,by not using a rear view mirror and breaking out when your opponent broke.

Something like this came with my car, and I find it useful in watching to make sure my opponent left the line, is coming, etc.

We've been happy with this one so far. It just took a small piece or rubber to make it fit 1 5/8 tubing. There are a lot of side by side mirror options to choose from.

I bough one of the Joes Racing mirror at summit (they have them in stock right now) and I also have a stock type rear view mirror from advanced auto mounted to the cage. I really do like the Joes mirror.

Most important, keep the shiny side up

not so 1290. i have been driving out of the mirror for many years and am above average at it. i watch until they go in to my blind spot then turn and look. but by then i have a good idea of what is going on. usually by 3/4 track.

i just bought a rear view mirror from local parts store and hose clamped it to the roll bar above windshield. if in left lane angle mirror to look out right side of rear glass. if in right lane angle to look out left side of rear glass.

if you can watch them the whole way you can get a feel of the closing rate and it makes it much easier imo.

get a standard mirror and not one of those objects are closer than appear. they won't work as good.

ep-take my mirror and i cant beat nobody

My son has a very good record racing fast dragsters. He never uses the rear view mirror and his head is turned around looking out the back window the moment he lands from the wheelie

I think a review mirror is a good tool for at least two reasons. First, safely see behind when backing.

Second, as posted above, make sure the other lane is in the race.

Also, if you desire to do so, judge the closing rate.

Gentlemen that races in my neck of the woods had a mustang a few years back that he installed a rear camera and monitor above the steering wheel. He said he like it and it was useful. I think whatever works for YOU to turn on the W is a help. I do both....Mirror at first and Turn Turn Turn.

Cheers

My neck is messed up some and simply can not turn it all the way around. Plus now with Hans device there is very little movement so it sure is not happening. Get a good mirror if you feel more comfortable with it.

/\ /\ /\ /\ They get it, he was asking what kind of mirror? not, if he can use a mirror or not or anything else stupid. Man wants a good mirror on his car. Simple. If you do not want one then you do not have to put one on your car. Very simple question. What kind of mirror?

I definitely use the mirror to ensure the other car is still in the race.
With my S10, being in the right lane is nearly impossible to see a much faster car due to halo bar and B pillar.
If Im left lane, I have the whole back window.
Without it, the only way is to loosen the belts and lean forward.....NOT the right way to do it.
