I thought about it. But man a 17" draglight would look like an oversized disco ball.

Ive seen a lot of them on no prep style cars and think they look good. You can get them in approx the same overall size as 15's: 26, 27, 28" diameter.

Overall dimensions don't change just a larger diameter wheel. I will be using the same tire dimensionally a 26x4.50 just be a 17 instead of a 15.

Lol a diso ball....I have some full throttle polished fronts that would give than big blue truck a new look. Had them on my Dakota for a couple races. Made the mistake of putting a buddies 17's on front and now I want some.

With all the cracked 15" wheels I'd be hesitant to make the spokes/wheel design any longer. That's just me and nothing scientific.

At the end of last season I had a crack form on the inside of an old Draglite. It was tempting to go with an updated look, but as you stated, many of the newer wheels seem to have problems on a heavy car like mine.

Plus I only needed to buy two instead of all four. :-)

FWIW my 36 weighs a tic over 3600lbs..It has had Weld Full Throttle wheels on it for a few years now with no issues. It always does big wheelstands as well. Will they crack eventually maybe but so far knock on wood its been ok. My truck at just under 3200 has had Weld Full Throttle and Weld one piece stars on it since started. It was street driven for a few years and raced for the last year and so far so good. Yes I saw some wheels that have cracked but not lately with any Welds..

AL: I just bought a 23 Dodge Challenger and am going to be putting a Billet Specialties 17" wheels on it. Many of the guys drag racing them are using 17" wheels with Hoosiers or MT tires. Check out the challenger sites and you can see them.
