tig add water cooled
Have a older Miller tig that is air cooled and wondering what it take to add water colled torch set up to it. Its 300 amp Dialarch HF if that helps.

Having issue with excessive heat when welding aluminum is biggest reason I was hoping to be able to add the water cooled set up. Asking local welding shop is more opening to sale me newer piece, which wouldn't be terrible but other items needed more right now.

All you need is a water cooled torch, a tank, a trans cooler with a fan on it and a pump.

It won't hurt a thing to have the water flowing the whole time whether you are on the pedal or not. I have a friend that has an old Miller set up this very way. I have welded tons of aluminum with it when I was building and selling valve covers, fuel cells and such. Tested it pretty good when I built a wake board tow frame for his boat using 2 1/2" od 1/4" wall aluminum tubing.
