Shifter of choice?
I can't help on the affordability. I would say stay with your home made shifter if you don't know what gear you're in without a light.

Nothing mentioned is going to take up much less room than any other. Some may be taller than others is all.

My LAST choice and first one to throw in garbage is the PPP shifter. Had two different ones and they would lock up and not shift or go from first to neutral. Only happened a few times but that is a lost round and could hurt the motor.

That's odd, I've ran several PPP shifters and had zero issues with any of them. I know of tons of people running them without issue. To me, they are one of the better shifters out there on the market. The best feature is true one handed operation and 3/4" profile. Not sure why you had an issue, but I'm guessing it's a one or two time issue with yours.

B&M Pro Bandit is what I have in my car now (came with it) and I like it> if I had to buy another shifter I would go with the DRS Titan shifter.

If you need a 3 speed shifter the motion shifters are decent.

Never said did not know gear. Just hard to tell is neutral slot or reverse slot. I mean hell they are 1 3/8" apart and abpout 1- degress rotation.

easy enough fo tap throttle and see what happens, Nothing or jumps. Just seems to make those around czr nervous. LOL
