Ok to keep short My 2005 dodge ram 1500 crewcab with 5.7 has had a stalling occasionally deal for while. Yesterday it died going down road. Would fire and die,dozen times. Got it home now will fire and idle with.Have to be handy with starting fluid to keep idling. Checked pressure at rail. 40 lbs during prime, zero or close when idling. My guess is fuel pump. Just like to see if other opions before dropping the full(of coarse) tank.On l;ift its not big deal on ground its huge pain in a$$. Hate to swap pumps and find something stupid simple later. Ideas? Fuel pressure spec is 58#, should be that at idle. If you drop the tank be very careful when disconnecting the lines, the nipples on the tank are plastic and break very easily. If you break the vapor nipple it is part of the tank and you have to replace the tank and it is VERY expensive. We just fixed one for a customer that replaced his own pump. You can also unbolt the bed and raise the front of the bed for access, pick your poison..... seems no filter other than in tank. Non listed anywhere. Filter weas my thought since I have never had pump go bad and not just quit. America home of free. Brought to you by 2nd amendment. | |||

The only filter is the "sock' on the pump. pump fixed it. While I did read post about not breaking plastic crap,i did it anyway. Nothing a bunch of epoxy didn't fix.Will be ***** getting line off next time,we;; unless damn thing just catches fire.LOL America home of free. Brought to you by 2nd amendment. | |||
