How fast have you guys been with the billet 0 1/2 pump and a terminator injection? Set up is 598 dart 355 heads. Reher 116 cam. 2897 intake. 2000 pound dragster. 4.30 gear. 36 degrees. shift at 7200. fall back to 6300. has little bubbas now. was .01 to .02 faster with the 3183. Tune up is 40 nozzle 56 return. keeps picking up when I give it more fuel. Typical pass: 1.08 3.08 4.80@142. Super consistent right now.

I’ve been 4.64/148 and 7.32/182 with my 555 with a 1/2 pump, 39 nozzles 76 pill at 1925# on 3183s with BMF 350 heads. My wife has been 7.40/180 with her 540 that has a 1/2 pump, 38 nozzles, 76 pill, same heads you have Dart 355 CNC.This message has been edited. Last edited by: 183N,

0 1/2 purple pump, 584" , BB2X with a lot of work, 1840lb dragster - I have been 7.19 @ 183 at Atco in decent air, 40 nozzle, pill is low- 70's (don't remember because I never touch it). Normally 4.50's in the 1/8. Billy Duhs - BD104X@gmail.com

Sounds like you have a flow issue. Could be older purple barrel valve, weak pump, pump not driven at 2:1, bad hose or fittings. Scott

I agree with Scott. I’ve only ever had the black 0 1/2 pump, but when I was running 4.80 it was with a 38/86 tuneup. I’m still using that pump on a 632 running low 4.60s. I can’t recall if the nozzles are 40 or 41 with a low-70s pill. Tony Leonard

Based on your numbers the motor is making around 930 HP. I have run a 565 making 1025 with that pump with either a 38 or 39 nozzle and a mid 70's pill so you got issues somewhere in your fuel system. No way that should need a 40 nozzle and a 56 pill!!! The 565 was in a 1925 4 link car that ran 7.20's @ 184 plus, 4.59 @ 150.

Everything was new this year. Gray barrel valve. Black pump. Guess I'll have to start opening it up looking for a restriction. Not making huge gains anymore but it was pick up .01 to .02 everytime I give it more fuel. It will build heat normally with the barrel valve partially closed. Stage at about 150. Don't turn water pump on till after burnout. Doesn't gain temp going down track. Coming up return road I shut off water pump and lean it back out. Temp will go down, If I dont, especially in this colder weather. No milking of oil. Has a vac pump. About 2 gallons a pass if I dont have to warm it up

That sound way too rich at idle and also too much total fuel used on a run. Note some tracks with long shutdowns/return roads do cause more fuel usage, still think 2 gallons is too much and 40 nozzles with a 56 pills is way too much. I'd put a pressure gauge in the car to measure fuel pressure on a run, that will tell you something right away. One thing that can also cause issues with fuel delivery, the fuel return line setup in the tank, if your tank just has a bulkhead fitting and dumps fuel on top above the fuel level, especially if it near the fuel supply and also if you have a small fuel tank, it can aerate the fuel being pulled into the supply line! Return fuel should be return under the fuel level.

Check out the complete system. I had a filter right before the barrel valve and it collapsed and I kept throwing more fuel at it. Soon was running over 150 PSI fuel pressure. If I remember right after I replaced it pressure went back down to 80 or 90. If it is picking up every time you throw more fuel at it then it is telling you something. Listen. If it is using too much fuel and milking the oil then it is probably too fat at idle / low RPM. Ran it today. went to a 41 nozzle 56 return. ran 1.09 4.78@ 144. lost a little down low but picked up more mph. Air was really good. best I've ran in with this combo. 60 degrees 35% humidity. around 1100 DA. Not milking the oil.

41 nozzle and 56 return???? Something isn't right.....I run a 665" engine, 1 pump, and in florida I was at a 41 nozzle, 76 main.... 41 and 56 is not uncommon with a -1/2 pump(hilborn/enderle style), I've been there and worked well. 6.41@221 (so far) 4.11@178 off the shelf/built it myself
