I didn’t see where anybody asked so I will, did the car run the same at all the timers on all the runs?

Okay, first of all I found the problem this morning but before I say what it is I want to thank everyone here who responded with ideas. I want to thank Green1 for making me step back and take a look at my program as a whole. Sometimes a fresh approach is needed and I for sure can always use some improvement.

Next I want to thank my friend Jeff McClure who drove a hundred miles from home to meet me halfway and loan me a new delay box to take with me to Topeka just in case. He also loaned me a delay box tester.

I decided this morning to try to hook the delay box tester up and just make sure that my delay box is working correctly. While I was looking things over and checking all my wiring connections I happened to push the transbrake button in.

The button was so slow moving back out that I could literally watch it move. I did it several times and apparently what has happened is there is dirt in the switch. Looks like I changed my solenoid for nothing but now at least I will have a good spare.

Thanks again to everyone for all your help. Greg, I was going to download the Racepak this morning also and email you the runs but it looks like it won't be necessary. I will change the switch and should be good to go. BTW, yes the runs were pretty much all the same except for the reaction time.

If you have a Biondo box, the reaction time tester is awesome(and would have caught your button problem). I always hit it a few times before going up to start time runs. It tells me if I'm awake or asleep, and I can hit it a few times until I'm "warmed up".

Glad you found it and was in no way knocking you.
I have had issue for year that my light would go from .00x-.01x to .08x which I think I finally figured out as being blood sugar issue from not eating enough at track.

A few years ago I had a problem with transbrake. I changed all of the wiring to solenoid, changed the solenoid and the button. It resolved the problem. I consider the solenoid a normal wear and tear item and replace them when anything looks strange. I usually keep the old ones as a spare.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

there have been a bad set of solenoids that came out. we saw this last year and the year before last. changed the solenoid and move on. have had this issue arise on four cars and it was all the transbreak. It doesn't matter if it is BTE, FTI, etc.. the small pancake ones are the ones I am talking about.
Just food for thought for anyone else.

It was the ultra quick small mushroom style button. The actual switch is fine but the button that is mounted to the bracket was full of dirt.

As for a prize, if I ever meet up with you I’ll buy ya a beer!
