David CoveyThat's wild.
I was contacted by Reinhart last week about coming back to IHRA and doing tech. He was supposed to call me this week to work out the details..
LOL, guess I will not get that call now..

pauleymy personal opinion on this situation is new owner is a nut. Rich is highly respected and connected in the sport. Allan is well known and brings added credibility to the organization.
dont understand why the dude feels the need to own all of these tracks. just get them under the ihra banner where you can hold events. why own them and then have the extra cost of managing and up keep.
i say this will never come to fruition and it is a pipe dream to some dumb azz with $$$ who wants to show the world how big his unit is.
you get rid of the two best people you have put in place is the dumbest move yet. if you were serious about it you swallow your ego and listen to those who know more than you. but i guess his ears are clogged with his $$. i heard he has spent 35 mill on the track purchases alone. use that $ to pay the purses and the people and put the races on. right now i am worried about the future of the tracks he has purchased. because he obviously doesnt have a clue.
ep-0% chance this happens.

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Mike EnglishI spoke with Alan over the weekend and it was his decision to leave. Probably for all of the previously posted reasons

nomadThe Competition Plus article is spot on, I think. However, that's just my opinion. What concerns me is the purchase of tracks. If this new IHRA goes down I'm worried good tracks will go down with it and leave my fellow racers with no place to race through no fault of their own.

I am sure Alan saw this as a sinking ship and got off before he went down with it

From what I've seen the IHRA is not listed as the owner on any of the new tracks, nor are any of the posted owners the same. Is he forming a bunch of holding companies?

Curly1I believe both IHRA and NHRA should make changes. IHRA is trying but just not sure they are making the right changes. Big Red Flag for me was when they hired Kenny Knowling. That right there made me wonder about the seriousness of the management.
Supposedly they bought IHRA and were going to make it a top notch racing organization then immediately hired one of the flakiest guys with worst reputation in the business to run it. Now maybe all of that stuff was not true but there was too much to ignore. Some of it had to be true.
Then they announce the IHRA bought 4 tracks and turns out that was not true. That makes me question everything they say after that. They would have been much better off if they never said anything about it until after the deal was done.
I do hope the IHRA is successful we all need them but they should stop shooting themselves in the foot.
