ferndaleflyerSaid I would be over 100 before it COULD become a problem. I told him that it could then become a problem, I hope!

BTR69Good evenin y'all. Just posted my race day on Brian's thread, so I'll leave that alone for a bit. Hope everyone's been getting along well in their weekend. At this weekends race, I was parked next to a young fella who had a familiar last name and familiar looking car. I spoke with him a bit, and asked if he was related to an old friend of mine who's race car looked like his way back in the 1990's. Turns out, my friend is his uncle and it's the same car. Only thing that's changed is the engine/tranny. I thought that was pretty cool. Haven't seen him since around 1996-97. Young fella said he'd had health problems several years back and parked the car. Tells me one day, kinda out of the blue, he mentioned about maybe going drag racing, and uncle told him he could have the car. I'm hoping my old buddy may show up to the track sometime so we can have a few laughs together again.
Now, time to rest up from last week/weekends stressful work week and lack of sleep, so I can hopefully have my poop together for the upcoming weekend race.
Have a great week....

BTR69Happy Monday... No race this weekend. Forecast showing 60+% chance of rain Saturday convinced the promoter to reschedule. Don't blame him for that call. Currently rescheduled for weekend after Thanksgiving. Dunno if it actually rained there, but it got us good over here. Planning to do a little preventive maint on the car this week/weekend. Gotta get ready for CCRA at The Farm on 28th-30th this month. Was going to get started this evening after work, but todays heat, (reportedly hit 99 with index over 110), got to me while working. Went home a little early due to that. May have been a touch of heat exhaustion. Only had that once that I remember, and this felt pretty similar. Still a little light headed sitting here on the laptop. Hope y'all are all doing well and staying cool....

B KINGWell, it's Tues. I think; I lose track of days being retired.

BTR, did a good job of bumping the thread up.
The Camaro is all set-up to go racing, just need to clean off the dust. Getting the tow rig ready for the 430-mile one way to racecation Winnemucca. I had to replace the batteries in the dually, got about 3 years out of the OG ones.
Hope all is well with everyone!
2BKING, is going to update the race thread soon.

ferndaleflyerFern went to the NC mountains over the weekend to visit grand daughter, hubby, and 2 great grand kids at their new FARM. These kids have lived their whole life in Tampa now striking out in the middle of no where with a farm. Had a real good visit as the last time I saw them I was racing at Bradentons New Years race a while back.
William it poured over this way Sat and Sun with high wind. I got home today and looks like everything survived. Every one stay safe---and drink water!

BTR69Happy Saturday... Fern, glad you had some good family time in the mountains. As a young'n, I took family time for granted. Older/wiser and somewhat more mature me, values that more now than anything.
Rough week/weekend over here. 110-115 temps all last week had me pretty dead every day after work. Didn't get anything done on the car. Weekend plans didn't workout either. Trip to my family home in Jacksonville to meet HVAC folks and get that semi squared away. Compressor failed and it's an old obsolete unit, which means new unit coming soon. More of my fun money going elsewhere that wasn't planned. YUUUUUGE storms here all day Friday. Rainfall map says my general area got between 6-7 inches over a 90 minute period. My garage/shop doors don't seal up 100% in the bottom corners and there's a spot at a wall/foundation joint I haven't been able to find that allows water in when we get high water. My shop vac got over 13 gallons off the floor of my shop after they passed. Didn't get it all as one corner isn't easily accessible right now. The important parts are dry though. Gotta get all my race prep for next weekend done tomorrow I believe. Work week looks heavy and planning to be at The Farm Friday afternoon.
Y'all have a great week.
