I used to I have nothing but Simpson, but then my boss who was a dirt track racer bought me a set of crow and been using them ever since. They have a great recertification program and the turn around is only 1 week!

I still use Simpson for all my other needs helmets jackets pants shoes.

HAVE THEY CALLED US YET ? THEY HAVE!!!

Ed its got to be my communication skills. I thought I was ordering Simpson. Don't know what I got but they are not going in my car! Will order once more and pay attention to what I say and hear. Then return these.

Guess they are racing this weekend at Rockingham so I guess I will get to make a couple of passes. Looks like 90+ every day so I guess we will see how the old guy holds up. Every one stay safe and stand up for your country.

Went out for our usual retiree social night, tonight. It's good to get together to BS, have drinks & do a little bit of gambling with disposable cash. I only start with a $100 & if it goes I quit, but tonight cashed out with $450. I guess I can retire now! Wink

Anyway, it's good to get together with friends on a Wed. night. Our small rural NV. town is probably around 60% retirees & it's a nice relaxing place.

Hope all is well with everyone!

12:40 AM.

Hurricane Hilary just began to impact the Southern California area. The National Weather Service is predicting that this will be the first time in 165 years that a hurricane has impacted this area. They are predicting rainfall in excess of 10 inches for in-land areas with excessive flooding. My wife and I live in-land and are expecting the worst.

That would be more rain than we might normally see in a year with wind speeds predicted to be greater than 100 mph.

I have done all I can to secure our home. I got my Home Owners Insurance Policy out and read all the fine print hoping that I won't need it.

Having lived through one of those "500 year floods" (1999), I offer this advice. Move your vehicles to high ground. Do not bother sleeping tonight. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

The rainfall is steadily increasing but so far very little wind. I am more concerned about the wind our home is between two large hills and the afternoon wind can be very strong. 100 MPH in this small valley would be much higher.

California is essentially a desert so the ground won't hold water, flooding is fairly common. During a normal rain storm I have seen flooding in excess of two feet deep at the base of our two hills. This storm is far from normal. Fortunately we are about 75 feet from the base of the hills but about 200 to 400 feet from the top so we catch the mountain side run-off. Flooding isn't the biggest concern here, fires are.

We live in a "Community" where we all help each other, we know all our neighbors. There is zero crime here, most of us are retired Military, this would be a very bad choice of areas to loot homes or rob people. It's still the wild West here.

I've been up since midnight following the latest news about the approaching weatherfront and with each report it seems to be gaining speed moving at 26 MPH but losing wind intensity. The current prediction is that the wind speeds will be in the 50 to 80 MPH range while the rainfall is increasing. In short, no one seems certain about what is coming. Normally weather forecasts for this area are very accurate, there isn't anything normal about this storm still I am as prepared as I can be. We will see if it's enough.

Hope you are ok. Here on the other side of the world Rockingham is packed, I lost 4th round and it is hot, dam hot. Has been a good event so far. Looks like Jim Howard is going to be running the place and that’s a real good thing. He gets rid of some of the old ways of doing things here and the racers will come. Bad habits are hard to break.

Fern, have they learned to prep a track? Been there twice, for NHRA Divisionals and never again.

So far, we've been lucky with the hurricane weather system. The worst part is forecasted to come.

Hope all is well with everyone!

The Navy ordered the Fleet to move out to sea during Hilary's stay, can't blame them who would want to be around her, it, whatever ?

At 9:40 it's still raining but not very heavy, the bulk is due to hit here later today and stay through Monday. Lots of conflicting weather information, sort of like all the conflicting News information that comes from the Three (Stooges) Networks.

The Wife and I will be in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in November for a Grandson's wedding after a quick stop in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Before anyone asks, no we don't own the town. If there are any Racers in the area, or around Madison or Jackson let me know.

Well, I found a minor issue with all this rain. My race car trailer vent in the bathroom compartment is leaking. The other vent is fine & no other leaks elsewhere. Got it dried up & got a drip pan on the floor.

My plan has been to seal the roof with Henry 887 Tropi-Cool 100% Silicone Roof Coating in white of course, this fall or winter.
