We have had NO Bread, NO Milk, NO Eggs, NO Beef, NO Chicken, NO Pork, NO TP, etc, etc for over a couple weeks now BUT I watch the news and the farmers are dumping milk in the fields, breaking the eggs, Not slaughtering animals etc, etc. Went to 6 stores over the last 3 days, ALL THE SAME. Talked to our neighbor, she paid 4.50 for a dozen eggs and there were only 2 dozen left. (this was last week) WHAT GIVES Man was not built to fly ... We have senior hours here in the morning for about an hour or so. After that all h**ll breaks loose. Noticed one day all the peanut butter was even empty. We normally hit it as soon as they open. A friend of mine went to Best Buy yesterday to order a new Laptop. He had to order it outside from the employee. Weird. This message has been edited. Last edited by: TD3550,

Sorry you all are having it so rough. Here in central NC we have been able to get everything we need. I went for milk and orange juice 2 days ago and there was plenty of eggs and I knew we only had 2 left so I picked up a dozen extra large, $1.95, + a dozen Krispy Cream donuts....Didn't check the TP.

The only thing I can come up with is due to a lot more people staying home and cooking their own meals that stuff is disappearing off the shelves. Milk, eggs and meat got a little scares here for a while but is back now. The only things my wife hadn’t been able to find until last couple days was flower and yeast but I managed to find her some plus a dozen roses for our anniversary that was couple weeks ago and no flowers were available.

There's a few supply chain problems, as well as people hoarding stuff. People are still eating but their food is coming from a different supplier. The food people were eating at restaurants came from suppliers like Sysco, US Food Service, IFH, ect. Most grocery stores use different sources for food. Big chains, like Wal-Mart own much of their own supply chain. Right now the grocery store supply chain is overwhelmed, while the restaurant supply chain is basically shut down. Recently I've bought some bread and meat from restaurants. If you have a friend in the restaurant business contact them to see if they have excess stock. Don't beat them up on price just because they have too much. Paying them a decent market price for some of their excess goods may help them stay in business. Milk is another matter. There's a surplus of milk every summer. Why? ~50 million students are basically force fed at least 1 milk every day during school. Farmer are dumping milk every summer when school is out. Many of the 50 million students don't touch milk when school is out. With schools closed across most of the country the milk surplus. Many milk suppliers are dumping even more milk now, than they do during the summer to drive prices up. It's a good business move on their part. It will hurt them short term, but create higher prices in the future. They'll probably get (more) government help also. I used to be a people person, but people ruined that.

Store stock is getting better every day. Plenty of milk and eggs. Meat isn't too bad local grocery chain is hosing us on the prices and doesn't even run any sales. Eggs were $1.20 dz this week, were .59 last week at Aldi's. TP is still blown out and you can't find bread flour anywhere.

Funny thing is. Local Food Lion has carried needs of this area for years and rarely out of anything except big sales. Now with 4 or 5 weeks of hoarding its still has shelves empty. You would think people would have stock piled enough by now. Heck store has been out of sugar for month except once( we stop by every other days or so).How damn much sugar are people consuming? I did notice all of the corn was gone too.Got me to thinking dang everybody is making moonshine. That would make being stuck at home easier to handle. America home of free. Wideopen, not all sugar is used for humans. I used around 100 lbs to feed some of my bee hives and the Carolinas have a lot of bee keepers. Joe Without data, you’re just another guy with an opinion.

yea but 5 lbs of sugar in a 5 to 6 gallon mash mix(I heard this ). With lack of corn it seems little much to be coincidence. Before anyone says they use cracked corn there is recipe online for using canned sweet corn. I read that not heard it. LOL Funny story about the sugar and bee's. A guy I work with on TA/D went to walmart and was buying a bunch of sugar. The gal at checkout.Said I know what you are doing. He told her no you don't.She said yes I do .You are making monnshine. He replied nope I have bees and they need sugar water for honey production. The fact they are in Wilkesboro NC which is almost moonshine central just makes it funnier. America home of free. Brought to you by 2nd amendment.

Frank, are you ever happy? This will be over soon and then you can go back to complaining about everything NHRA. No shortage here in jersey, I've got 2 refrigerators packed and enough toilet paper to wipe my ass for 6 months.

I'm always happy. It's just that I know several people that are hurting A LOT right now and need to go back to work. Glad you are doing so good. What is this NHRA you speak of? Man was not built to fly ... That's why he built HEMI's Frank Zeffiro ALIAS -- BIG KAHUNA

Anybody "hurting" after being being out of work 2-3 weeks, had no plan and lived from check to check. That's on them and I for one don't want to bail them out. We all need to go back to work.
