Did anyone see the S/G final on D3TV yesterday? Great coverage by the way. I couldn't believe that when the cloud of tire smoke at the finish line cleared that he didn't crash. I was very surprised the DD didn't take the win.

I saw it and there was a bit of a pause by the announcer......I felt like he was not saying a thing until the powers that be in the tower gave it a thumbs up. The driver went straight and never got out of shape. His MPH was not all that low.....Front tire locked up I think....but don't really know.... Possibly they warned him after the run.....don't do that again.... I've seen worse on All Access......

I did that a couple years ago at the same track. They need to work on their finish line track prep! Tony Leonard

That was a lot of smoke. 9:48:00 if you want to see it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7cRkzgv2dI ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

Thanks for posting that. Are all the races covered like this? Actually gives me drag racing worth watching! Anyway, back to the S/Gas Final. Yeah, he left a lot of smoke, but we never lost sight of his car, nor dig it seem to wiggle at-all. I have seen far, far worse and barely a talking-too at other races, including NHRA Divisionals like this one.

Go to 9:47 and watch the S/ST car do a second wheelie when it comes off the stop. Ken

Well known in Middle America. That thing is awesome! Tony Leonard

The double wheelie car won....Went a .90 in the final....runs over 150 so must be an 8 second car wide open I'd guess

Has to be coming off the stop in low to do a second wheelie....that is awesome to watch and from evidence of the 10.90X in the final, it must be consistent. Rob Robertson

I'm pretty sure it is injected alcohol and run very much how I run my injected S/C car. Break the beam, drop to dead idle, then wide open again in Low. It does work very well. I don't do sweet wheelies though. Tony Leonard

Some people might think that was just a funny remark, but I think you're dead-on. It looks like the track prep stops right at the finish line. They should be spraying a little past that to provide a 'landing pad'. It probably wouldn't have smoked or slid at all. That's a bad place to have such a stark transition. __ Michael Beard - staginglight@gmail.com Staging Light Graphic Design, Printing & Event Marketing

I was standing at the finish line...dead locked brakes...should have been thrown out of the track less the win...it's all fun and games til someone gets hurt...and NHRA is just as much at fault for not doing anything about this style racing...it's all on video can't say it didn't happen
